A: blipshift is where you can find fresh and awesome limited edition T-shirts for automotive enthusiasts. Every week we will release a new design for just $15. Once a shirt’s run is done, we’re off to the next one. We have short attention spans.
A: For more information on blipshift’s Fantastic Automotive Pilots (as they prefer to be called but are definitely not), go to the About Us page.
A: Each shirt goes up for sale every Tuesday at 10PM EST. Once it sells out or within 7 days, whichever comes first, that design is retired. If you see something you like and it hasn't sold out yet, order it before it’s too late. You can always view previous shirts but we won’t print them again. Perhaps you can find one for sale on Craigslist -- check in the M4S - Men seeking Shirts section under Missed Connections.
A: Anytime we do a production run of shirts we print the number ordered plus a handful of extras because we're no good at math and nice round numbers don't hurt our heads as much. If you want to own a design you should always order it during the sales period! Any extra shirts from production runs will be put into Our Garage for sale only AFTER already purchased shirts have been shipped. They are $18 plus normal shipping charges (shame on you for not ordering earlier!) and extremely limited in quantity. We won't have all designs or sizes, so no whining*. To see if your size is available just look for any design in Our Garage with the green light and that'll tell you if there's any available.* If a design you love is no longer available for ordering and we've already sold the handful of extras, let us know via comments or likes in our album on facebook. With enough demand we may contemplate bringing old favorites back.
A: We normally use Anvil Fashion Fit Tees, as our internal evaluation determined they offer an excellent combination of fit, comfort, quality and price. They are made of pre-shrunk 4.5 oz 100% combed ring spun cotton (except Heather Gray which is 10% Poly and 110% awesome). If necessary due to national t-shirt supply limitations, we may substitute comparable quality products from Next Level or Gildan.
A: We can’t see your body (not yet; we understand that Google is working on solving that) but Anvil Fashion Fit shirts tend to be a little more, uh, fitted than other tees, so order accordingly. That means get the next size up if you’re not sure. Here’s a handy size chart to help you make your decision.
A: All of our shirts are printed using a proprietary blend of used synthetic motor oil and unicorn tears through a state-of-the-art screen-printing processes under the expert guidance of artisans and their robot overlords, right here in America.
A: Like a frightened turtle. Since our shirts are made from 100% cotton (well, mostly; yeah, we’re looking at you Heather Gray), they will shrink slightly when you wash them. In our tests they gave up 5-10% after a few cycles in hot. YMMV.
If you want them to shrink as little as possible, we recommend washing your blipshift shirts in ice water and hanging them to dry under the light of a waning moon. If for some reason you want your shirts to shrink a lot (Your cabbage soup diet worked! You discovered Spanx!) then by all means, wash them in your radiator runoff and dry them on your exhaust manifold.
A normal routine of wash cold, dry low should be just fine but you already ordered a size up since you're borderline, right?Q: Who designs your shirts?
A: Our tees are designed by either the mad geniuses that work for us, or more often, when our genius threatens to cross the border into insanity, we rely a collective of auto-enthusiasts and artists from around the world. Each selected shirt’s description includes a short bio of the artist, including links to their portfolio of other work.
A: We’re always looking for new talent. If you are interested in joining in the fun and making serious coinage (we pay in sacks of blips, ie, nickels, unless you prefer PayPal) check out our Artist Resources and FAQ pages.Q: Do your artists get paid?
A: We understand that artists need to buy tires and brake pads too! We pay each artist $1 per shirt sold with a guaranteed minimum per design AND the artist keeps full rights to their design, subject to the conditions in our T&C contract. If they so desire, after an appearance on blipshift, contributing artists can hawk their wares elsewhere.
