The 2024 Shiftee Awards

Turns out, there's a lot of torso coverage that can be squeezed into 365 days. Whether that's as a fresh design submission, idea-turned-finished tee, or a resto-mod of a classic slice of upper-body awesomeness, it's thanks to our hundreds of fans and artists that 2024 remained so artistically rich. And in an era when you can materialize an image of a pug wearing a tutu with the click of a "generate" button, it's not something we take for granted. Of all the winning works that were rendered, trimmed, screened, loaded, inked, cured, and shipped over the course of the year, these were some of the highlights deserving of special thanks and that golden torso.

Admittedly by picking this design I am being way more than a little bit biased here seeing as I am the original artist but what can I say I like what I like. This design is actually a refresh from its original run and it's nice to see something you worked on a while ago show up again in a new way. It's like seeing an old friend who is a bit different now but still has all the same fun loving charm that you remember. Plus the fantasy element riffs just make me chuckle.

The way the crunchy plastic panels imperfectly line up is just too perfect, and the added fact that another tee-a-day site originally passed on this one made its popularity with our *ahem* more refined connoisseurs all the sweeter. As someone who's re-watched the 1986 VHS countless times, this art certainly had the touch.
